The Lord is My Shepherd

 

After the sermon last week, some members told me they found the message encouraging to them. Thank the Lord! It is His own handiwork that helps everyone enter into the Truth through the Holy Spirit. May all glory be to God! Here below I share again with everyone the enlightenment gained when I read the Bible. That is, how I discovered in Psalm 23 (a) the myriad names of Jehovah as shown in the Old Testament; and (b) Lord Jesus Christ as shown in the Gospels (in the Book of John, Christ said, “I am” seven times) –

 

The Lord is my shepherd: Jehovah - Rohi

Psalm 23:1

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd,lays down his life for the sheep .

John 10:11

I shall not be in want.

Psalm 23:1

Jehovah – Jireh (The Lord will provide).

Genesis 22:14

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.

John 10:9

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters.

Psalm 23:2

Jehovah – Shalom (The Lord is peace).

Judges 6:24

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 6:35

He restores my soul.

Psalm 23:3

Jehovah – Rophe (The Lord who heals you).

Exodus 15:26

When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 8:12

He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psalm 23:3

Jehovah – Tsidkenu (The Lord, our righteousness).

Jeremiah 23:5-6

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

Psalm 23:4

Ebenezer (Thus far has the Lord helped us).

1 Samuel 7:12

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.”

John 11:25

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Jehovah – Nissi (The Lord is my banner).

Exodus 17:15

But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

John 16:7-11

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23:6

Jehovah –Sammah (The Lord is there).

Ezekiel 48:35

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
