Made to praise

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. - Psalm 100:1-3

Michael Green tells the story of a young boy trying out for a part in the school play…

His mother knew that he had his heart set on a particular part, though she was afraid he wouldn’t get it. He wasn’t especially gifted in theater, he sang like a cat being strangled, and as for prop work, his artistic talent was really limited to mud pies. On the day the parts were awarded, she drove to school to pick him up. The young boy rushed up to her screaming with excitement. His eyes were shining with pride as he exclaimed, “Momma! Momma! I’ve been chosen to clap and cheer!”

Everyone has been given different talents to be used for God’s glory. But we’ve all been chosen to clap and cheer. Praising God is part of your spiritual DNA. It’s what you were made to do. And it’s a joy you’ll experience for eternity.

Whatever you do today – make it a worship song to God. Praise Him with your lips, praise Him with your thoughts, and praise Him with your actions. Worship God today, and the people who hear your song will be blessed.
